The indents to me look like the would hold one wine glass on either side…maybe the hole in the middle would somehow hold a bottle? But I don’t know how you would display or set it up anywhere as it is…interesting…

It is for wine.  The whole goes over the neck of the bottle standing upright.  Then each slot holds a wine glass upside down.  It balances.   Kind of strange not to get the wine and glasses with it, but there you go

I believe (could be totally off base), that it goes like this.

Sit the wine bottle on the table. Pour two glasses. Put the wooden thing on top of the bottle (so the bottle is sticking up out of the hole in the middle). Then your two glasses will fit in those other slits.

I have no idea why this product  is useful, but I think that’s what it’s for.

Someone correct me if I’m wrong.

Edit – sorry. Posted at the same time as the others before me.

@wrkbrk:  haha I got one of those too!  Luckily it came with a bottle of wine, so we were able to piece together what the heck it was.

@wrkbrk:  actually now that I think about it, ours came with a bottle of wine AND two glasses, so that was a little more helpful. Trying to figure it out, we were like toddlers trying to fit the round peg in the round hole, haha.

@wrkbrk:  Just an idea, could it be ment to be useful when carrying it? Like you are planning to share a bottle of wine out on the patio/garden and now I can carry all of it together in one hand instead of making several trips?
