A friend of mine recently got married and specifically requested I give her and her groom swimming lessons as a gift for her wedding as neither one of them ever learned to swim. I thought it was a unique gift but was happy to provide the bride with her request. I’ve been teaching private lessons for years so it wasn’t totally out of left field just unique for a wedding gift.
I contacted the bride a few times to schedule lessons over the course of the summer and never heard back from her. Now the summer is drawing to a close and it’s a little too late to do lessons so here’s my question…
Should I just let it go and figure I tried my best to “deliver” on my wedding gift or should I try and track down their registry and purchase an alternate gift?
I feel bad not getting them anything for their wedding but at the same time I’m a little peeved that the bride kind of ignored my attempts to get in touch with her. Should I be?
What do you think?
