I have the same problem. My wedding is Oct. 30th and I already have a shiny new KitchenAid sitting in my living room. I’m, apparently, not supposed to know about it but I was the one who signed for it! lol. Plus, it wasnt wrapped.

I’d send a thank you now.   In that way, the giver knows it has arrived safely, and you get one thing out-of-the-way before your wedding.  Okay, I know you have lots to do, but I love crossing things off my lists.

Kitchen-Aid mixers are amazing.  I’ve litterally worn out the base that the bowl locks into–and I can get replacement parts!  Have fun with it!

Send thank you notes as soon as you get a gift.  If you wait people will either think you didn’t get the gift or that you don’t intend to send thanks yous (and when you finally do send it they will think it took too long lol).  Hope this helps!

Yeah, I’d send the thank you now, and then you can include a message about looking forward to seeing them, etc.

::::jealous::::  I begged FI for a kitchenaid for christmas but he insisted it should be a wedding gift. Grrrrr.

sgm – we’re date twins!  We’ve received a few as well — mostly from far flung relatives who won’t be able to come (my FI is from Japan).  We are thanking them right away for the reasons listed above.  People know they are giving it to you early, so let them know you received it and appreciate it.  PLUS — it’s one less thank you note to write later.
