I'm hoping to find a birdcage. I most recently saw a basket used.
Probably some sort of box with a slit in the front..I don't like the idea of having them left out in the open, in something where it's easy to grab one--makes me nervous.
... I honestly haven't thought that far, but probably some kind of box. Our reception is pretty secluded, though, so hopefully nothing bad will happen to it!
We just used a basket, covered by a nice piece of fabric. Lots of people do birdcages or boxes with slits cut in the top, which look really pretty... but I didn't want another thing added to my to-do list :).
I'm planning on using a satin bag to hold the cards - the bag will probably stay with my mom at my parents table. Ideally I'd like to use the bag my grandmother made for my mom's wedding. :)
All the cards are going to my Dad...and we'll get them from him later.
We will be borrowing a white fabric treasure chest looking box that has a slit on the top. A birdcage would really go well with our theme of "lovebirds" but I find that the cages seem like the cards might slip out, and that's a valuable card you would lose, so we backed off of that idea.
I had a birdcage from someone else's wedding that was white and I added a black ribbon. Bought it for 25 cents at a garage sale.

What is everyone using to store their cards in on the gift table? I am curious.
