I was at a wedding last summer where the bride and groom gave away bottles of wine to their guests for things like the couple that traveled the furthest, the person that responded first, the person that responded last, the longest marriage, the oldest guest in attendance. I would also like to do this but I am looking for more creative criteria for who gets the bottles of wine, any ideas????

That’s a really unique idea! I don’t think I’ve heard of anything like that for a wedding. I’ve seen things like that at showers though. What about the couple with the closest anniversary day to the newlyweds? Or for the first table to clink their glasses at you?
And as far as what to give away, what about a small bouquet of flowers? Or a single rose? That way you can give recognition without having to spend a lot.

Oh I think that’s kind of cute!

Oh I was thinking about this the other day and was worried about the guests mingling with each other, you know I think it would be nice for our extended family to mingle and talk. So what about giving a prize to the first person who can tell you something they learned about someone from the opposite side of the family? Good prizes may be maybe picture frames with your wedding date on something that has your date on it.

Thanks for the ideas. I love the idea about the anniversary closest to ours and the table clinking the glasses first!! I want to give away as many prizes as possible so these are all great additions!! Keep them coming!

I love this idea!! What about these… kind of opposites of some that you have.
Most recently married
Lives closest to venue (travelled least)
Youngest guest (couple with newest baby)
Or what about trivia, if you have that kind of crowd:
Name the location of the couples first date
Who introduced the bride and groom?

Someone that I work with had what she called the “Pillow Toss Game.” It works similar to the bouquet toss, only they call up all the married couples and the bride and groom tossed a decorative pillow and the couple that caught the pillow won a night at a nice hotel. I would like to do something similar, just maybe a little cheaper.
