I have a wedding to go to in a couple of weeks in downtown Chicago. The ceremony is at 4:00pm at a Catholic Church and the reception is at 6:00pm a restaurant with a private room.
A. Does this dress seem appropriate? The invitation doesn’t mention a dress code and the style of the invitation doesn’t suggest black tie.
B. Should I find something more summery?

Looks acceptable to me. Id be happy to have a guest wear it to my wedding 🙂

I think it’s great and classy. You should add a poll 🙂

@ajillity81: This doesn’t look like a casual dress to me. It looks like a formal fabric. With heels and earrings, it’s fine.

@ajillity81: It is a Friday wedding.
It’s a fairly dressy fabric in person, which might not come across in this picture. Also, it’s a little more form fitting on me than on the model.

Very appropriate. Pretty dress.

I’d dress it up with a necklace and some earrings for an evening reception, but I think it’s perfectly appropriate!

It doesn’t say summer to me.

I think it looks great. Just a thought, some churches prefer shoulders be covered, so you may want to bring a light wrap or cardigan just in case, our of respect.
