At the last minute I had to get a new outfit for a wedding I am going to this weekend. I was planning on wearing a short dress, sleeveless, but now it is supposed to be cold and rainy 🙁 I found this while shopping and I loved it on me, but I showed my sister the picture and she was very meh on it. I will say, on the model, the neckline is a bit higher than it is on me. By no means is it cleavage bearing, but it is lower. What do you ladies think?? Does it look old?

I’m personally not a fan of the sheer lace overlay trend honestly. I think it cheapens the look of the dress. It certainly won’t keep you warmer.

I’m with your sister on this. I don’t love it but I don’t hate it either.

I don’t care for the style of the dress. However, if you love it, it isn’t like the dress is inappropriate.

I’m with your sister. It’s just meh, I have no real strong feelings one way or the other.

hunting_bride : I would not wear this to the wedding, it looks too dark and depressing.

I get an Elvira vibe from it. I don’t like bottom of the skirt, it just stops. Nothing fluid about it.

No, I don’t like it at all. It’s June, so I think the black is too dark for a wedding. And I don’t like the skirt. Looks kind of trashy to me.

I think it’s completely appropriate for a wedding. If you like it and feel good in it, rock it!

i don’t see how the lace bottom will keep you warmer or dryer. i’m not a fan of the style.
but if you love it, you should wear it.

This is why the tags are still on it. Hmmm. I have some thinking to do. I was iffy on it but was a bit rushed by FI to get out of the mall….ugh.

It’s not my style but I could see someone else totally rocking it. I will say, however, that it doesn’t give off June wedding vibes. I could moreso see it being appropriate for a different event in the fall or winter.

hunting_bride : it’s fine, Def not too low.

It’s not great. Could you wear a sweater with the other planned dress?

I don’t like it, at all. Sorry bee. If I’m being perfectly honest, I *hate* the whole high/low and sheer trend. It just looks really cheap to me.
