- Wedding: July 2013
So, over the course of the last month I have been struggling with a dilemma, that out of stupidity, I created. When I announced my engagement on Facebook (in March), a high-school friend, who I don’t hang out with, and see on the rare occassion (and who happens to be a hair stylist) flat out said congrats; I’m doing your hair!
So, thinking, this would be a great opportunity to get a discount on mine, and my eventual bridesmaids hair – told her that would be great!
I have since had a bad hair cut experiences with her, and have not liked any of her recent hair styles she’s posted on Facebook. (In all honesty, my other hair experiences with her have been mediocre at best, as well) She also made a comment that she better be invited to the wedding dot dot dot – but I had to break it to her that she wasn’t. We’re having a small, 50 person wedding with immediate family and our best friends only.
She took it a bit hard, but what can you do?
I received a message from her two days ago, stating it was not worth it to her to take a day off of work to do our hair (me and 3 bridesmaids) and unless she charged me more, we would all have to squeez into a tiny mall hair salon for her to do it. But she ended the message with saying we could keep things the way they were, if her new plan didn’t work for me.
So… is she going to charge me more, or not??
On top of this! Another high school friend who is a stylist (and amaaazeing) moved back into town, quoted me slightly more than she did, but is willing to come to me to do the hair. My sister, who desperately wants me to choose him over her – offered to help pay for her hair, at the very least, so that I would choose him.
Now you can see my dilemma.
IF I were to tell the girl that I had changed my mind with her – how do I do it without looking like a total b with an itch? This is not a friendship I cherish – we are really more acquantences, but still. I want to be civil and friendly with her in the future.
OR do I simply suck it up and potentially hate my hair for my wedding? O.o
* I will just note that no contracts of any kind were signed. It was all agreed upon through Facebook chat – haha.
