Why not try a stylist that will come to you? I’ve gotten hair and makeup done by Darah of Dollface Studio (though not an updo), and I really liked it.

I’ve also heard Calista of Calista Brides was good, but when I looked into her, she was very pregnant and not taking clients when I was getting married (September 08). But you could try her if you’re not getting married for a while!

I agree with rebecca.

I found a woman that has agreed to come to me on my wedding day. It’s just someone that works at a local salon who will travel without expense to me. Just try asking your favorite stylist if she’d be willing to do that for you on a Sunday as kind of a "free lance" job for her, away from the salon.

Good luck!

when i lived in philly, i used to go to ovations on orianna street. they  opened 2 hours early for me when i needed my hair done for a morning event with no extra charge (though my mom and i were both regular customers), and were super sweet and talented (coolest up-do i’ve ever had was done there). i don’t think they were tremendously expensive, but i live in a more expensive area now, so my view of that may be kind of skewed. anyway, give them a call and see if they can help!

I second finding a stylist to come to you.  Natalie Pagano is amazing and may be free for a Sunday wedding.  [email protected] or 610.299.2121.

Or look at Cali from Calista Brides.  I was in a wedding and she came to our hotel room to do six BMs’ hair and make-up, the bride and her mother.

AME (pronounced Ah-may) in Wayne is open 7 days a week.  Their prices aren’t bad, I get my hair cut there….. give them a call!

Another route is to use Ulta or another similar type of salon that is normally open on Sundays. For my FSIL’s wedding we went to a Great Clips in Chester County for her Sunday wedding, and the service and updos were great. I know it seems like it’s risky, but you can always get a trial first and see what you think.
