Check in with Candace at the Patrick Evan Salon. She’s great with all kinds of updos and hair types:)

I did my own makeup for my wedding, and it turned out really well! I went to the Laura Mercier counter in Neiman Marcus at Union Square a few weeks ahead of time. I think it was Alex (a friendly young woman) who took me through the basics, as I rarely wear much makeup. I learned some tricks for lining the top of my lids (with a really cool midnight blue) and for applying bronzer without looking orange. I bought most of the makeup, as I don’t own much besides mineral powder, mascara, and lip gloss, and I practiced applying my own makeup several times before the wedding. Since my wedding, I’ve incorporated some of the products into my daily routine (I now can’t live without brow pencil! And in all of this rain, the waterproof mascara is really coming in handy), and other I’ve saved for holiday parties and special occasions. If you’re looking for something “budget wise”, this may be a good option for you!
