@scqt13: I felt more me with my hair down and knew I wanted to wear it down....but it was pinned back on the sides so I guess it was kinda half up/down
I love all your inspiration pics by the way! Maybe you can have 2 trials....1 up do and 1 down and see which you like best!
This was right before putting on the dress
Before my hair/makeup trial I was planning on wearing my hair down because that just felt more me, but the more I talked with the stylist and my MOH I realized it would be much easier to have it up. Our ceremony is outside so there could be wind to deal with and I love to dance so I know I'll be sweaty.
The stylist did a great job with my up-do and I'm really excited to wear it on my wedding day. I'm less excited about taking out with 27+ bobby pins, but oh well.

I usually wear my hair down, but for the wedding I think an up-do is more formal. I plan to wear my hair like above for my ceremony and then change it to a half up/half down for the reception like below. Both photos are by my hair/makeup team so I'm excited :)

@weddingbound: Ahhhh I LOVE your hair!!! I wish i could do that but my hair is just not that long and it really tight-curls-curly. What was the back of your hair like? do you have a pic?
@LizzyR: The only pic I have of the back is when I went for a hair trial but on the wedding day I don't have a view of the back. I do have a side view thou.
side view on wedding day
Here is a pic of the back from a hair trial
@weddingbound: Very pretty! I see alot of brides doing the pompadore look... half up half down in a good compromise too! :-)
@arabesque: Love the "dos", both are very elegant. Maybe I can consider half-up half down as well...
@vandhaug2011: I do like the side-do... it looks great! Love all the curls!
@Kimy: Gorgegous! How'd they do that! It's different but still very elegant! Go for it if you can...
@scqt13: I've never seen a down do that didn't look at least a little bedraggled by the end of the wedding. I went for up and it still looked almost perfect when I took it down for bed.

@scqt13: Ok, I HATE how I look with my hair "up" although I didn't want it to become flat or frizzy because of the weather or because I was sweating haha gross I know...and I also thought if it were down I wouldn't feel like it was "secure" and always looking it's best. So I decided to go with a low updo.

There was still enough hair showing in the front that I didn't feel naked like I usually do with my hair up or pulled back.

You just have to go with what you feel most comfortable with, good luck! :)
@letsgobowlingx: Lovely! Very pretty. Since our wedding is in May, I'm thinking it'll probably be somewhat warm... so I have to consider weather conditions too! I'm leaning towards updo for wedding outdoors, and down for the reception indoors....
@scqt13: decisions is right! I am having the hardest time deciding on what to do with my hair. Just when I think 'I'm leaving it down!!', I see a gorgeous updo and shit.. I don't know anymore! BLAH!
@raisedonrobbery: LOL! I know, right? Uggghhh, what us ladies have to go through to make sure we look "perfecto" on the big day! ;-)
@SpecialSundae: Your style is very elegant! It looks like it blended well with your dress style, accessories, etc....
I'm torn too. I like the control of having an up 'do, especially when it comes to unpredictable weather (we're getting married in Bali). I'm hoping to have it up (soft, tousled, with some volume) for the ceremony and then maybe let my hair down for the reception, literally. Haha.
I am a terrifically practical person. We will be getting married and have our reception outside. An updo means I don't have to worry about wind or sweaty hair on my neck. And I won't fiddle with it all night. And it's easier for updos to hold their shape all day. So I will go with an updo, not because it's elegant, but because it's practical.
Keep in mind that you are having a May wedding (like me)... It can be very warm and nothing is worse than you hair getting all sweaty! This is the look that I am going for from my trial...
I always wear my hair up and my wedding won't be any different. That and it's gonna be really effing hot in August so I don't want hair all over :)
I can't decide on up or down either... I love how elegant up-dos look for weddings, but I feel like up-dos look not so great on me. I keep thinking I will end up doing half up/half down, but I know an Updo would be so much easier to keep pretty the day of.

Oh the decisions....
I'm starting to think about how I want to wear my hair for the big day....
I wouldn't mind it long with dramatic curls, but I keep being bought back to the idea that brides are "supposed" to wear their hair up and off of their shoulders.
Are you going with the traditional elegant updo, or for the sexier drama of wearing your hair down?
I was even thinking of wear an updo for the ceremony, and down for the reception...
Post your wedding hairstyles too.
I'm torn between somthing like this?
Or... this?
Or Va-Va Voom!!!
