I'm so sorry to hear of your loss....
Another life taken due to a senseless decision to drink and drive. So sad.
It's so sad to hear tragic things like this. Prayers for the family and friends of Claudia and her son. (hugs!)
I'm so sorry to hear this news. Thank you for the reminder of the preciousness of life. I hope the family will be comforted.
Wow that's terrible. Did the drunk guy live?
I got the chills reading this. I am so sorry for your loss and I will keep her family in my thoughts and prayers :(
Yes, the drunk driver has some injuries, but he should recover. Here's a link to the story for anyone interested:

This is so sad and scary! 8AM?! I'm so sorry for your loss!
@JBing: Wow. What an irresponsible and selfish person. I certainly hope he gets what is coming to him.
So sad. One of my mother's good friend's daughters was killed by a drunk driver when she was in her young 20s, and I was in middle school. It stuck with me so much, and I have no tolerance for drunk driving (or even tipsy driving). I firmly believe that anyone arrested for dui should never be allowed to drive again.
I am SO sorry :( hugs and prayers to the family and friends involved. How tragic!
@JBing: When I read about stuff like this I want to cry. I hate drunk drivers. My mom was hit a few years ago, and she's alright, but she's had so many medical problems because of it. She's not able to find work like she used to because of that too. I just hate hate hate hate hate selfish and inconsiderite people who do things like this.
ETA: It's just not fair that everyone BUT the drunk bastard is hurt or killed. Why can't it just be the stupid one that pays for their mistakes??? :'(
This is so terrible :( I live in WI, not too far from the Dells. We hear stories like this far too often. I'll keep you and her family in my prayers.
Ugh. I was hit by a drunk driver. It's so stupid! I am all about putting machines in cars that make you breathe into them before you can start the car.
Almost 10 years ago, I was almost hit by a drunk driver at 3am on New Years Eve as i was driving home from work (I was a bartender). I was only 19 years old at the time. My hairdresser is my MOH's mom, so this type of thing would be devasting.
I'm so sorry you're going through it. Thank you for reminding me how fragile life is.
I gasped at the picture of the car. How terrible. I am terribly sorry for everyone's loss.
This is horrible. :( Drunk drivers are of the most selfish people out there. How could you risk not only your life, but the lives of others? It makes me sick to my stomach.
That is so sad. All I can think of, having read that, is that poor little 3 year old boy left behind :(
That is a horrible story! I'm so sorry. I have 0 tolerance for drunk driving.

Hi Bees,
I felt that I needed to post this somewhere, or tell someone, because it's not really the thing you talk about in normal conversation. I got an email Wednesday morning from my hair salon, letting me know that their dear friend and my hairstylist was killed in an auto accident on Tuesday. Obviously they are grieving and working on getting the urgent brides situated with another stylist, etc. I'm not really worried at all about having to get someone new to do my hair- that's the least difficult thing in this whole matter, but it's just so sad and tragic, especially when I just had the chance to meet her a month ago.
It turns out that she was headed up with her kids and fiancee to Wisconsin Dells, a vacation area, early tuesday morning. She was hit by a DRUNK GUY, driving on a revoked liscence and with a history of DUIs and other offenses. At 8am. And he was most likely speeding, given the violence of the crash. Worst of all, Claudia lost her life and so did her teenage son. Her other son is injured and her step-son and his friend are also in the hospital. I am just saddended by all of this, the fact that it was so unneccessary and completely avoidable.
I just knew her just a little, she did my hair and demanded I continue to grow my hair till the wedding, but it's hard not to think about the lives that were ruined by this. I wanted to share it because life is short and things can happen, and everyone should be aware of how fleeting life can be. And most importantly, Claudia and her son should be remembered. I know I'll be thinking about her on my wedding day and many other days between then and now.
Thanks bees
