Im getting married September 5th 2015. I have my ceremony and reception venue booked and my dress ordered. Im doing a diamonds and pearls themed reception, so right now im in the process of getting all my crystal and pearl elements together. For my centerpieces im doing tall cylinder vases full of pearls and diamonds, with the flowers balls ontop and a couple dangling crystal garlands.

I am also getting married on September 5, 2015.  I have booked my wedding planner/DOC, the venue, the photographer, the florist/event designer, the caterer, the cocktail hour musician, the DJ, and have my STDs.  I already have my ceremony dress and my BMs have their dresses.  My reception dress has been ordered.  My wedding planner is taking care of my hotel room blocks.  I still have to book the bridal suite and HM suite.

odichinma:  It looks like a lot now but ask me again where I am come March.  I bet I will be behind everyone.  I did as much as I could now before my busy season which has now started and doesn’t ease up until April.  UGH!

Hi Ladies,

Congratulations! I was married in September 2012. I took advantage of after Christmas sales and had just about all of my bridal party gifts, decorations and favors sitting in our hall closet by February. Ribbon is so inexpensive and so are nice name brand gifts sets after Christmas, so I stocked up! If you have the time and energy you will SAVE plenty of money! I wanted Afrocentric/traditional invites. I couldn’t find what I wanted, so I made my own invitations. I had custom stamps made of Ndinrka symbols and embossed them-see the picture. We also used the “Jumping the Broom” theme for our save the dates-again I couldn’t find what I wanted so I created those myself. Disclosure: I am crafty, so I had much of the equipment at home to be successful and the products I invested in just went towards my business. I customize wedding brooms https://www.etsy.com/shop/JumpingtheBroom and do some desk-top publishing of stationary… I say, weigh the pros and cons of DIY. If you are crafty and can borrow or reuse your “heavy equipment” i.e. Cricut machine, your good! If not, scour Craig’s list, Wedding Bee and enlist friends/family or use coupon codes. By saving on these items we were able to book a fabulous location, excellent caterer and have an awesome honeymoon and stay within $1000.00 of our wedding budget.
