This is unbelievable
At this stage, I do not know what to do. Should I ask her to step aside or let the dressmaker try to finish the dress in time for the wedding?
I just found out that one of my bridesmaid dress is not yet finish, The dressmaker have not yet start the process of even cutting.
I hate to see an uneven bridal party, I am having 4 bridesmaid to match my groom’s 4 men.
I am hypertensive, and right this minute I can feel my blood pressure shooting to the roof. I don’t know what to do.
I called her on wednesday and she told me all was well. I gave her the option in January to send me her measuremenst and i would get the dress done at the same dressmaker the other three girls used. She declined. She preferred to use her regular dressmaker, so i sent her the fabric in May.

That is beyond frustrating! try to keep your blood pressure down. if the dressmaker finishes, great – your Bridesmaid or Best Man is in the wedding. if not, then your Bridesmaid or Best Man is a guest. but don’t ask her to step down now. if the dress isn’t ready by next week, then she’ll have no choice but to opt out.

And yes, you do have 8 more days to go… hope she can make the dress in 8 days, she should give all of her attention to this one dress until she’s done!

If the dress maker hasn’t even cut the fabric yet is it possible to get it back and have yours do it? Or find someone who sews to make it? Normally most dress patterns really don’t take a lot of time to sew. Can you talk to your Bridesmaid or Best Man to put some pressure on her dressmaker? I would have hoped that your Bridesmaid or Best Man was clear that she needed her dress by a certain day.

@auggiefrog: Mine is unable to do it she is fully booked to the end of August

Eight days until you guys leave for Jamaica? I would ask her to call the dressmaker she is using and push her to get the dress done and make sure it fits properly before you leave. 8 days should be enough time, but this seamstress needs to be pushed!
Other than that, try to relax. If the dress isn’t ready for the wedding, then she isn’t a bridesmaid, she will attend as a guest. If this happens, just have one bridesmaid walk with 2 of the groomsmen down the aisle. Uneven wedding parties are common now and although it wouldn’t be your first choice, it will all work out okay.

I’d leave this one up to your Bridesmaid or Best Man. I imagine most people know she is in it and if she suddenly isn’t, they’ll find out on their own.
Just print programs once the dress is done ;o)

I feel like we’re missing part of the picture here. When did your Bridesmaid or Best Man give the seamstress her measurements/fabric? Is this your BM’s fault or the seamstress?

@Bazingau: I don’t know whose fault it is at this stage. The seamstress claim she did not remember the date of the wedding, and that she tried to reach my bridesmaid several times via text message. She received the fabric on the 31 of May
I kept intouch with my Bridesmaid and asked for update every week since may, and she assured me her dress was on target. When i spoke to her on Wednesday morning , (July 25) she said she was going to pick up her dress that same day.
My Fiance said he is getting the impression that she really doesn’t care and don’t want to be apart of the wedding, i just wish she would come out and tell me.
