What's getting in the way of you having a dress? Have you not found one that you like? Is budget a problem?
Well... I'd go shopping NOW! Lucky you, you're in NYC so you can certainly go into a shop and find a sample you love, or look out for an upcoming trunk show. YOu can also look for a used dress or a new dress being sold by a bride or bride to be on Weddingbee.com or Preownedwedding.com (I think). Good luck!
You need to go to David's Bridal or find a shop that will allow you to buy a sample dress. They should be able to get them fast enough.
My ex's sister got married in 5 days and was able to get a dress in time, so don't stress, but GET ON THAT... She went and bought a dress from davids bridal and looked gorgeous.
Just start looking around and trying things on NOW. Try to stay with things you can buy ASAP.
Go to some salons and have them bring samples they're selling. You can buy a sample off the rack and then have it altered pretty quickly. You can also try looking at preowned wedding dresses on oncewed and preownedweddingdresses.com. I literally just received a dress that I bought off preownedweddingdresses.com and I'm getting married the same day as you are. Just go start looking now!
Thank you all for the replies. I should've started long time ago
WISH ME LUCK!!!
I lived in NYC for many years, if the budget is the problem there are places in Queens and out on the Island in Valley Stream that you can get a dress.
What is the problem, that's the best place to start...is it the budget? sizes?
Don't stress it can be done, but you need to set your goals and a deadline...like by next weekend and take it from there.
Try the Bridal Garden on W 21st St (same block as Kleinfelds). They sell pre-owned and sample gowns for a discount and the money goes to a good cause. They have nice stuff too. You need an appt: http://www.bridalgarden.org/
the problem is.. I started it too late. I was so caught up with invitation and now I am running out of time. I feel stupid
Almost every bridal store out there offers samples for sale. So start giving a call to the local shops to see if they have anything. Good luck!
a friend got a custom made dress from dhgate.com the sellers name was babyonline. If you were getting a dress from this site I would definitely go with this seller. dress came in just under a month and is absolutely beautiful! It really is stunning and was only $184 NZD. Looks nicer than the designer ones we looked at worth thousands.
Get hoppin woman! Plus, being in Manhattan, you have PLENTY of places to choose from.
How formal is your wedding? Bloomingdales on 59th St. has a lot of white dresses if you are ok with something a little less traditional.
I wound up with a "regular" bridal gown but admired this Nicole Miller during my internet research: http://www1.bloomingdales.com/catalog/product/index.ognc?ID=514785&CategoryID=22074
I second/third/seventh the above suggestions about getting a sample. I wound up with a sample sale dress. It was 60% off, and I walked out of the store with it.
thank you all for replies....
I went to shopping yesterday and bought a sample. I love it. thank u for the suggestions
