tents are always an option as well as heaters. I found these pictures on my planners website, and thought it was a great idea for a wedding early in the year when it might be chilly(i think the wedding was in march).

you said you didnt want a holiday weekend in the summer, but technically Momorial day is in May and Labor day is in September, and those are both great weekends, too.
That is a good idea and cute pictures. We are now considering memorial day weekend, and hope that the venue we like is available.
Thanks for the response.
Disregard this thread.
We booked our venue, and it's on the saturday of memorial day. I feel so much better now about the idea of better weather! :)

Hello!
I am new to the boards, newly engaged and in the start of the planning process. My fiance is in the navy and we are trying to plan our wedding around flight school-easier said than done. ugh. Anyway, as far as setting a date we are shooting for a holiday weekend since it would be easier for him to take leave, as opposed to any ordinary weekend.
We've come up with president's day weekend in February. I'd rather not plan on a summer holiday weekend, but my major concern will be the weather. I want an outdoor ceremony and possible indoor/outdoor reception.
Are any of you San Diego brides planning an outdoor winter/spring wedding, or have attended any in the area? What are your plans if it rains?
