- Wedding: September 2011
Bees, I’m struggling to hold it all together.
We have been planning our wedding for nearly a year, and the day is finally <almost> here. Literally, I’ve got dour days to finish all the projects, which is so exciting!
However, I need to rant a little.
The place from whence I purchased my beautiful gown scheduled my final fitting for the saturday before our wedding. I was nervous, but they assured me it would give them plenty of time to clean it, steam it, and get it to me (of course, they didn’t tell me that all this cleaning/steaming thing would tack on another 2oo+ bucks to my tab, but that’s for a different post…). However, on the final fitting, the seamstress busted the zipper accidentally by zipping in some of the lining while getting it on my. No problem, she’d swap it out, I’d try it on on Monday after work to make sure it still fit and they’d get it to me by Thursday at the latest. I was cool as a cucumber, folks, and proud of it. However, the seamstress and the store manager were both frantic and kept saying “oh my gosh, oh my gosh, what a disaster, oh my gosh! How could this have happened??!” Oh man, isn’t the job of the vendor to NOT stress out the bride? Nevertheless, I was confident that they could fix it; after all, they do this all the time.
However, Monday’s fitting ended in complete disaster. The hook and eye popped out because it wasn’t in securely and the NEW zipper split. (Seriously? I’m a size 0-2. I don’t split zippers EVER).
Again, wasn’t worried until they started getting frantic again. They’d take it to a new alterations guy. They’d rush the cleaning, they’d do this and that and oh my gosh how could this have happened??! It will now be ready to try on AGAIN on Wednesday, and hopefully be cleaned and steamed (for 200+ bucks, mind) by friday.
I’m so freaked out! and what if the NEW new zipper breaks, too! ?!??!!?
