We have insurance with WedSafe. It covers catastrophes that could affect the wedding itself, and it also includes alcohol liability and damage to the property (our venue is a private residence). It was $447 and covers the following: $50,000 cancellation/postponement coverage, $3,000 photo/video (which is low for what we have invested), $3,000 gifts, $3,000 attire, $3,000 jewelry, $3,000 loss of deposits, $12,500 "extra expense", $1M liability/property damage, and alcohol liability.
You can select the total coverage based on the cost of your wedding (although you can't adjust the individual categories--just the total cancellation amount). I'm not familiar with what else is out there, but this one seemed to pop up the most often.

Does anyone have any experience/advice with wedding insurance?
Our possible venue requires the catering to have insurance. However the caterer that we may end up selecting, while we are very familiar with her work, she does not have insurance. So we will have to purchase a "day of" wedding reception insurance to over any food issues or damage to the reception site.
Any advice on how and with companies to go with?
