I think the business cards are a neat idea. People are more likely to actually check out the website if you have a special card just to tell them to visit the website. I had my website on our save-the-dates, and only five or so people signed my guest book on the site, so either everyone was too shy to sign the book, or nobody actually visited the site (which I think is more likely). So any way you can bring more attention to the website, do it!
I have the cards to do the same thing. I am just going to have it say - "For additional information, accomadations, or just plain because, check out our web site at blawblawblaw." (spell checked of course as my spelling is horrible).
@ jenbrander:
Yes, I had the same thing. I had about 3 people who signed our guest book after seeing the wedding website address on the save the dates (2 grandparents, FMIL, and I think maybe one other person). I worked hard on our website, trying to make it as functional and helpful to our guests as it could be so I'd like for them to be able to use it (and they have to have the web address again in case they lost it). I'm glad you ladies don't think it's tacky!
Thanks,
Bella

So I bought all of the usual pieces for our wedding invites to match - invite, response card and reception card. They are all white cards with black font.
I was thinking though that by now, most people have either A.) Lost their Save the Dates or B.) Thrown the Save the Date away after they put it on their calendar. The issue with this is that the save the dates had our wedding website information on it. The website has a lot of helpful information on it including but not limited to personalized google map directions, telling more about the church/after party location, where we're registered, etc. So, I was thinking I probably need some way to get our wedding website address back in front of people so we aren't dealing with a lot of 'I need directions' or 'where are you registered?' questions.
Here was my thought on how to fix this... 'issue:' I found these beautiful black and white damask business cards (they are 100% damask print on one side and then have a little one sided border on the front with the rest being white space to print on. I was thinking I'd print something short and sweet like "Looking for personalized directions and more information? Check out our wedding website at: (insert our wedding website address here)" I wouldn't mention the registry information being on there but I think people will figure it out (and who doesn't need directions anyways?).
... what do you all think of this? They are the size of regular business cards but MUCH nicer (and has the black and white damask print on the backside - it's not blank). In fact, here is a sample of the front of the card. http://www.geographics.com/NEW-Geographics-Releases-Design-Paper/c1300_1301/p21342/Black-&-White-Damask-Double-sided-Business-Cards,-2%22x3.5%22-150/pack/product_info.html?osCsid=62a9e2f6a095254cfe1588455f6b4e93
I thought that this would be something people could put on their fridge to keep handy when trying to get directions.
All thoughts and ideas are welcome.
Thanks!!
Bella
