- Wedding: September 2012
So starting off I purchased my DIY invites online at ebay but later found a cheaper website.
They sell for 12.99 and have a pocket style invite with a RSVP,Directions and Map or whatever else you would like. Plus Envelopes for the Invites and RSVP. Seriously I’ve looked and this is a smoking deal! It comes with 25.
My wedding is Olive Green, Brown and Cream. These are perfect but wheres the green and they do need a little something creative bought around to give them the OOOPPFFF! So I hated the gold scroll on the sides….Easy print on the back but than the gold shows through…simple a paper trimmer to cute down the edges….no more showing through! Than that gives me an added mat to place behind the invite and thats where my olive green comes in! I bought cardstock blank note cards and cut them in half…you can use scrapbook just as easily though. On my line I just used a Martha Stewart Olive green jewel.Really your imagination is endless! Well I found the info for the fonts from heineck7712! I changed a few of the fonts. The wonderful thing which I had to do was download free fonts because my word didnt have them but easy fix really! Here is the font Style I used for mine:
Our names – miss broadway
and – Mutlu Ornamental
invite you – air bonnie
wedding – Euphemia UCAS
ceremony & reception – scriptina pro (keep in mind when you do this i had to do a text box in order for it to overlap the other words)
date and time – elephant bold
venue- Bernard MT Condensed
For the flourish swirl another inspiration-
The wilton website which is the brand of the invites has a template…its blank but as long as you fit all your wording into it than it will fit perfectly on your invite…its also a word document.
Im still working on my other 3 cards for the left side but what I have done is just found a stamp at Micheals that I liked along with a moss green Ink and add a little something. Than my flower I made with fiskars punch in a small and medium flower i purchased at
I bought regular scrapbook paper in a shimmer olive green, a flat olive green and a shimmer cream. I punched 1 medium flowers from both greens than a small from the cream to create my flower. And bought some small pearl stick ons from Michaels for the middle dot.
Well I hope this gives someone ideas. I really hope my guests like it. Im not finished just yet but I will be sure to add more as I finish! Any questions Ill be happy to help!
