Check out Wedding Paper Divas - they have great designs at highly affordable prices. A simple invitation card and a response card should be sufficient for most people, but if you have a lot of guests coming in from out of town you might consider an additional card listing information such as accomodations, directions, things to do in the area, etc. Likely an invitation and a response card are perfectly appropriate though, so try not to be overwhelmed.
Hi Cyd,
Thanks for the information. It can be overwhelming at times.

If you want simple and somewhat traditional invitations for cheap check out www.invitationsbydawn.com -- they were the cheapest I found online -- and cheaper than any diy I looked into. If you don't want to do an rsvp card (I didn't) you can use a website for your guests to rsvp and then you don't have to buy the envelope for the rsvp or the postage! Just put the rsvp website on what would have been a response card -- sans envelope.
My favorite places for invites are Reaves Engraving (thermography, engraving, letterpress) and Mercurio Brothers (letterpress). Both are really good quality on the cheap. The only downside is that the paper colors are limited. By purple ink on a white or offwhite invite could be really pretty, especially with a nice purple envelope lining.
As said above an invite and a response card are the norm. (you can always add your own slip -- plain old black ink on copy paper -- on accomodations and stuff -- I get those with invites all the time.)

I think they're nicer wedding invites than weddingpaperdivas, but just as affordable.
I have used weddingpaperdivas in the past for other invites and have always been pleased with their selection and service.
I have a site here that you might like. Check it out. Pricing starts at 4.00 each.
I am currently working with Sondra's Ink. She is affordable custom design. www.sondrasink.com if the link does not work I will try again.
We got ours at kinkos. They have big books to skim through witht he actual samples in them. We got 125 for less than $200 and that includes the rsvp cards and lined enveoples.
My only suggestion is to make sure you get a good employee to help you, we had a teenager who didn't know what they were doing and the store had to call us several times to verify spellings etc.
We did our invites through Mercurio Bros - they took our custom design and size and printed out our main invite for a really excellent price (for letterpress). The service was great, though you really need to call and confirm the order was received.
To supplement the main invite, we included a non-letterpress info card that we printed ourselves on coordinating paper. Overall, we were very pleased.
You can also try party city. They have a wide selection of books to look through in their store so you could actually see what you would be getting. The only thing is each store is independently owned. The one near me offers 30% off invites. Good luck!

I'm looking for a place to find wedding invitations for cheap. Nothing to fancy but they must have a light purple theme. We will not have assigned seating or meal selection, so what will my invitation need to work properly? There seems to be so many little things you can add to an invitation this is where i'm confused. Help?
Thanks,
Matt Hamilton
