So today I went to the eye doctor for a full check up. My eyes did indeed change and got a little worse. I really cannot see ... like it's fuzzy etc. and I want to see my wedding crisp and clear ...

So I can actually get the surgery at the end of this month ... or I could wait until after the wedding. What do you think?

Is this for cataracts? Sorry if I missed the backstory!  If the doc thinks you can be back to seeing clearly by the wedding then I'd go for it! :) GL! We're thinking of you!

duh, you mean get your vision fixed, like laser so you don't have to get contacts?  just get an eval and see what they suggest!

Hi I had Lasik last year..  You will be totally fine by October.  I had one day of pain and that was right after the surgery.  It was like I had sand in my eye.  The next day I was just light sensitive.  I wore sunglasses indoors for a few days.  During the surgery, the capillaries in one eye burst so I had a bloody eye- but it goes away in about 2 weeks.

The rules are no swimming pools, ocean, jacuzzis for 3 weeks and that's it! You can do anything and after 3 weeks, it's like you never had surgery but have perfect vision.

If you're doing LASIK, you'll be fine.  I did PRK last year, though, and that takes a bit more time to heal (and you can't rub your eyes for 4 whole months!).  PRK works more slowly, but is a better option in a lot of cases.  If your doctor recommends it instead of LASIK, get it in ASAP.

I have decided to wait until after the honeymoon ... and we go away for xmas + new years ... so after NYE vacation I'll come back and do it.

I guess I cannot fly after having it? Plus I don't want any complications and I got way too nervous about what I still need to accomplish for my wedding.

Any other bees have experience with Lasik? I've considered it but stilll a little hestitant. I'm also curious to know how much you need to pay out of pocket.

I would have loved to have had Lasik, but I'm not a candidate. I even saw the doc who did Tiger Woods eyes. Darn, I hate snorkeling in contacts.

I actually need cataract sugery, but am waiting until after the wedding.  It's just too much to do beforehand and I can't take the stress of being out of commission for a few weeks.

I had Lasik last year for my 30th bday present to myself.  I actually wasn't planning on doing it at all but my Dad and Step-mom were doing a two for one deal together and my Step-mom ended-up not being able to do the surgery.  She wasn't a candidate.  So my Dad did his and loved it so he convinced me to take her place.

I'm so glad I did the surgery.  I can see better then I did with contacts. I see a 20/15 now!  I had zero problems with the left eye. No pain nothing.  My right eye had a stingy pain like I got soap in my eyes.  But that lasted only for 2 days.  I could see instantly after the surgey.  But they recommend you wait a full day to try to really see.

We went to Italy for vacation soon after and it was so nice to not have to worry with contacts or prescription sunglasses!

I donated my prescription glasses after the surgery which always makes you feel good knowing you're helping others!
