Hey brides and brides to be!
I am looking into my bridal jewelry (some nice – earrings and necklace), nothing over the top and classy/classic.
Problem is, do I opt for costume/silver jewelry that I may not ever wear again or spend a bit more and get a gold peices that I can actually enjoy wearing after the wedding.
My mom and sister are pushing for the gold (long term peices), but my friends like the more elaborate (cheaper wedding only peices).
I am more with my family and want something really nice that I can keep wearing. A sentiment that I can enjoy over the years.
Based on the prices and what I have seen on the net, my budget would be to purchase a gold setting but with a diamond alternative.
That being said, my dilema furthers! I went to a jewelr to see for myself the options I had available to me. He had on display, a true synthetic diamond (100% carbon), cz, white sapphire, moissanite and a coated simulant. All looked good at first glance. However, the syntheti diamond was removed as they are still $5000+ per carat. I also did not like the really white and bad cut of the CZ. It too was removed. Moissanite was tempting, but it seemed to over sparkle compared to the synthetic diamond and looked a bit too yellow ish green. Also, not the beautiful white I am used to. The sapphire was nice but the cut was no where near a diamond. I was finally left with the coated simulant. It had a nice color, sparkled really nice and the price was just right, but i still wasnt sure.
What is a girl to do…
