I didn't know if anyone else was doing this, but I started a "wedding journal". It's more for us later down the road and our children.

I just went out to Barnes & Noble and picked up one of those journals that they always have in the clearance section. I've started writing in it whenever I have a moment. So far I've got how we meet, first date, little things like that. I've also put pictures of us in it and cards that my FI has given me.

My FI has also written a little in it as well. He wrote about the day that he proposed and going shopping for the ring and such.

It's kind of like a scrapbook, but I love journals, so I went this route. I love the fact that years down the road our children will be able to read through it. :)

I think that is a great idea and wish I'd done it!

    We have a journal!

My FI actually gave it to me as a gift for our first valentine's day together. He wrote in it about how we met and how he knew I was the one. Since then, we've both written in it about special moments, and just our feelings in general.  And... he even used it to propose to me.  It was the only way he could make sure everything he wanted to say was said - and I'm SOOOO glad! Because now I'll always remember what he said to me!

I thought about doing a scrapbook ... but so far I just have a huge notebook with plastic folders built in .... it's working out well. I take it with me everywhere and I always am writing in it!

At our family's engagement party for us, my grandparents gave us a small stack of 3 little journals with a note that they really wanted us to be writing stuff down and journaling during this time because it's fun to have things to look back on.  It was SO sweet of them, and such a great idea I think

Shortly after we got engaged, my mom give me this journal/scrapbooky thing from Target she bought us as a gift.

It's like a binder, but with all the pages all ready in it. The first page has blanks to fill out about how you first met, and another page is about the engagment, showers, wedding, honeymoon, etc.

And not only are there place to fill out all your history, each page doubles as a pocket/folder to hold onto cards, love notes, etc. It also has spaces blocked out to put photos.

Its geat and super helpful especially if you're not sure where to start with a wedding journal or scrapbook.

It's in the photo album aisle - I highly recommend it!

That's a great idea!  I think I'll start journaling too - I would love for my kids to have something like that to look at.

Aww that's so sweet! My FI would never do this, he's not the sentimental write-it-down kinda guy =]

He does like to tell me this sort of stuff to my face before bed, and I absolustely adore those moments. With him, he's almost more of an actions speak louder than words kinda guy. I just swoon when he tells me when i mean to him in such detail though

As I'm just beginning to plan - this might be a great idea to keep all things in order!

ejs4y8 - my FI is just like yours!  one thing he does do is he gives me cards.  not only on special occasions, but he'll just randomly go find a funny card and write down how he feels about me then stick it in my purse or leave it on the table by the door, etc.  we are apart right now (long distance), and the cards definitely help whenever i miss him...although if i saved it and gave them to our children...???...i'm not sure he'll like that very much.  haha.  :)
