cbgmtx:  I just wanted to say your look is gorgeous and timeless! Love the soft flowers with the softness of your dress with the pop of color! Very pretty!

cbgmtx:  OMG that dress!  Gorgeous! I love the purple flowers!

My dress is hanging in my parents’ house.  I actually took it home in January after a sample sale.  Though I’m pretty sure I’m having the back made into a corset.  My hair and make up trials are in Mid-November as well!

We’re within 4 months.  This last few weeks I’ve finalized a lot of the wedding.  It’s starting to feel real!

Hair Inspiration (I’m not this blonde, but I am this curly.)

I have a similar clip

Shoes

Earrings (a gift from FI this past Valentine’s Day)

Inspiration for the flowers

That’s so far…

Wow!! @cbgmtx I LOVE everything about your look, just stunning!  I agree with you, I don’t think you’ll need a necklace with that neckline, but pearls would be nice if you do go that way.  How come you’re cutting the train off?  It’s stunning!

That’s funny that we’re all getting our hair trials in November, I’m looking forward to it, I may buy some clip in extensions so that it will make the look more “full”.  I have my dress, but have to wait until December to do alterations.  I’m just struggling to find shoes.  I found some gorgeous Badgley Mischkas, but can’t justifiy spending almost $300 on them, especialy if they won’t be seen, really.  (Please feel free to share suggestions).

Dress: Mikaella 1856

Earrings

Badgley Mischka shoes I would LOVE – but too expensive 🙁

These 2 are from Nine West, and I’m considering them.  Heels are a bit shorter than I would have liked, but I’ll be using the champagne/gold colour as accents.  Guys will be in navy blue suits with ties of a similar colour and my flower girls will have sashes with that colour too.

Hair 🙂

I have NO idea about flowers yet – I haven’t picked them out, but am aiming for cream/ivory colours.

Do you Bees live in snowy climates??

diamondlilly: That is gorgeous.  Would you wear the shoes again?  I have no issue spending on shoes I’ll get a lot of wear out of.  (I’m also a 11.5/12 shoe… so they’re expensive here to start with!)

I live in a snowy area.  We’re getting married at the ski hill!  (We’re skiers, we met skiing, part of our honeymoon is skiing… This makes sense to us!)

I think we should do a thread in November for all the hair trials!

cbgmtx:  My FI heads to Ireland that day for his stag and none of my girls can be with me.  I’m going to have to go photo happy for critiques!

A tasting would be fun.  Our venue doesn’t do one. (We have gone there for dinner… the food is fabulous.) We did our cake tasting on the weekend – it was AWESOME!

cbgmtx:  Enjoy your tasting!  When is it?

Our wedding is a resort/hotel, too.  The only food they allow you to bring in is cake.  (They don’t do wedding cakes.)  So we had to go with an outside vendor.  She’s great, but her communication isn’t totally awesome.  But she totally makes up for it with her cakes, cookies, macaroons (OMG, they are to die for.  I kind of regret not getting a macaroon tower.)  The cake tasting was awesome… try a bunch of sponge flavours and a bunch of filling? Yes, please!

We have a 6,9,12 cake… so the 6 layer is vanilla sponge with lemon buttercream (this was a toss up with a bunch of flavours.  And we aren’t keeping our top layer.)  The 9 layer is apple spice cake with cinnamon buttercream (this was Ah-mazing!  If we didn’t have as many Irish coming (who apparently aren’t a fan of cinnamon as a nation) we’d have made it the 12 layer.  The 12 layer is marble with chocolate buttercream.

All I know is its penalty of death if the Bride doesn’t get apple spice and cinnamon!  I will make that abudantly clear!

Thanks ladies!!  Ahh the issue of whether or not I would wear the shoes again is weighing on me!  It’s a really good point!  Apparently you can dye them if they’re satin, so I guess I could make them black after and then have a pair of fancy shoes for any other events I go to.  (Can you tell I’m trying to talk myself into not feeling guilty if I get expensive ones?!!)

@cbgmtx I’ve never heard of Hey Lady shoes but WOW!! Pretty!! 🙂 Which ones did you end up getting??

@sostobe I LOVE your story about meeting and getting married on a ski hill! That sounds so romantic!!

Ooh cake and food tasting sounds amazing!! I don’t think we’re getting a tasting with ours either.  Everyone who knows the venue comments on how good the food is, and I’ve been to a wedding there too and agree.  So I’m putting my faith in it.  My mom’s making our cake, she’s making a “Christmas cake” but it’s very boozy and not dry at all and so yummy!  We’re having the icing/fondant put on by our neighbour who is talented with that.  I’m excited to see what it will look like.

What kind of flowers are you Bees having?? I still have NO clue!
