I included one in my invitations because everyone was from out of the area. It showed some of the local attractions and along with the wedding site and hotel.
I did mine in photoshop. I took a screencap of google maps and then did line art over the top of it and colored it!
This is how it turned out.
I did mine in photoshop the same was zippylef did. I took a screencap of google maps and then created a new layer to draw some lines on for the roads.
I do mine in InDesign or Illustrator, similar to that - using a google or yahoo map as a guide.
I did a print screen on Google Maps then copied it into Word and went from there. I wanted something very straight forward, and it was really easy to do. Just took a little bit of time.
We are including little maps for some people if we know that they don't use the internet (Grandma!) but otherwise we put a lot of directions/maps/info on our website.
I did mine in powerpoint using a screen cap from Google Maps.

when do you need one? my ceremony and reception are in the same place. shall i still include a map? if so, of what directions? everyone will come from different area?
