Help! I am becoming the DIY queen with little or no expense in almost everything I've created for my big day. Now I'm stumped on maps, is there a fab program out there for little $$ that will let you add cute icons and landmarks? Insistent on doing myself, call me a control freak if you will, but we (both FI and I) are truly enjoying all the work we are putting into our celebration. Any suggestions?
Not sure if you are good at drawing, but FI drew our map with cute little pictures and landmarks. Then he scanned it into photoshop to clean it up and added wording. It turned out great and its very personalized to us.
Wow, thank you all for the useful information. I think I'll try the do it yourself and into photoshop OR powerpoint, hadn't thought of that one. Will let you all know... and thanks again, what a fab support group.
I am by no means a pro DIYer, but I found the Knot link listed by reilabird to be pretty easy to follow. I was able to make a simple map in Word relatively painlessly.

If you mean a map insert you're making to put in your invitations, try google images.
