We just put it in a general savings account, which is being used as a mixture of things, like a vacation and a house.
We are going to replenish our savings. We have spent so much money between the wedding and a new house that it would be nice to have something deposited into a savings account.
We need some furniture to finish off our house and will put some of it toward that.
If we have any left over we will likely either apply it toward out mortgage or add it to our emergency fund.
I'm thinking that it will be used on furniture initially and maybe if there's enough a little can go toward a house...Or just leave it in savings. :)
I already own a house and too much furniture (lol) so I will probably use most of it to pay off credit cards & deposit into savings.
We just bought a house and basically had to destroy most of his savings with closing costs (thank god I have a savings too!) We're going to put it back in his savings and also to bu ya few things for our new house :)
We're putting a 2/3's probably into the mortgage as a lum sum payment and the 1/3 will go towards renovations.

We have been thinking about what to do with the money we receive as a wedding gift. The wedding itself will be paid off and we won't have any debt from that, and our honeymoon will be taken care of. More than likely we will put it towards a home in the future.
