What are you planning on eating the morning of your wedding?  I want to plan this ahead of time -- yup, I'm that anal -- and would love suggestions of stuff to consider OR avoid!

Someone on my local knot board suggested getting an edible arrangement.  They're expensive!  But I like that people can snack a bit when they are hungry.  Panera maybe?

Hmmm, I'm a little freaked that Panera's pastries are all SOOOO high in calories.  Not what I want to be noshing right before putting on my gown.  Maybe fruit from there, though?

We got a bunch of 100 calorie bagels and low fat cream cheese and lox.  We also had fruit and yogurt.  Since mine was a morning wedding, we set up a little buffet for the bridesmaids.

I will be having my chocolate protein smoothie and plan on making fruit smoothies for all my gals!  My girls always leave weighing 5 pounds less after visiting me! Gotta have some protein to keep the blood sugar level.

So funny I was just talking to my mom about this! Part of me wants to eat pancakes or donuts something real bad for you 'cause the dieting will be over by then, but then I know I wont wanna feel all bloated from the rich food. Plus we are having mini sandwhiches, fruit and cheese at the venue while we are getting ready... so here are my thoughts right now:

    A) oatmeal with walnuts, cinnamon and fresh fruit (kinda filling but ya don't have to eat a huge bowl and it keeps my energy up thoughout the day!)

    B) egg white omelette and some canadian bacon

I'm guessing that I'll be so excited that I won't be that hungry and will end up just eating a bowl of cereal or something. I'm just afraid of feeling too full from a heavy breakfast!

My fsil who  just got married 3 weeks ago apple wedges and grapes, and crackers and lunchmeat and cheese slices.  It was perfect because the protein really helped give us a boost and was fast and easy while we were running around and getting ready.

ha - wow! i shoved a panera bagel smothered in cream cheese in my mouth while dancing around singing janet jackson songs to my girls while they got their hair and makeup done - best decision ever!!

as some other posters have mentioned previously in this thread - the calorie counting is pretty much fruitless by that point in time!

For my friend's wedding, her mother set up trays of fresh fruit, mini-muffins and pastries with coffee and OJ for us. It was the perfect breakfast because it wasn't too heavy but enough to keep us satisfied until the dinner.

Protien was key for me! I get shaky when my blood sugar gets too low, so I wanted to have something to hold me over while at the ceremony! I had a peanut butter and jelly sandwich for myself before I left. I also had fruit, yogurt and bagels for my girls! Oh and of course mimosas!

That's a great question bruschetta!  I think I'm actually taking my girls out to breakfast since they are arriving all at different times ahead of the wedding and won't be time for a bridesmaids' lunch/tea.  The wedding isn't until 6:30pm so we have time.  I'm thinking something healthish too though-probably pastries are a bad idea when trying to look svelte in the wedding dress!  I'm thinking fruit/oatmeal/cereals/eggs?

We had coffee, fruit, muffins, and yogurt at the salon.  Then, we got done with the salon early, so my SIL suggested we go eat lunch.  I didn't think I was hungry, but I scarfed that black bean burger!  And at the reception I ate all of my meal and a piece of cake!  I think the important thing is just that you eat, and not necessarily what you eat, so you don't pass out or something.  My SIL also bought me a box of granola bars...  I had a couple of those too.  :)

First of all, I will do what my friend just did on her wedding day and try to sleep in :) I honestly dont' think I'll eat breakfast and will prob have to force myself to eat something during the day...when I get nervous eating is the last thing I want to do

But while all the girls are getting ready we will have sandwiches & fruit, and just a little champagne to take the edge off :)

I would recommend an egg-white omelet (with some sort of protein - ham, chicken, salmon) with some vegetables - maybe zucchini and mushrooms, and a bit of good cheese.

Also, a good active-bacteria low-sugar yogurt (greek is awesome!), and DEFINITELY some fruit - maybe some strawberries.  they'll be in season in august!

Basically, I'd cut out anything that would leave me too full (egg yolk and bread), and anything that would make me gassy (onions, garlic, and bell peppers always do that to me )

go for health!  You'll feel more confident if you eat right!

oh, and obviously - mimosas too :)

I ate some yogurt, half a bagel and a latte on the morning of my wedding.  I normally don't eat bagels, but my stomach was a little rumbly, so I wanted something to settle it a little.  I also ate a small lunch, half a roast beef sandwich and an apple.  Our wedding didn't start until 6 PM, so I had eat something.  I'm glad that I did it, although I wasn't sure I wanted to eat.

    This is a great thread!

I know I need to eat something cause I get wobbly when I dont eat, and with the stress and anxiety and nervousness of the wedding, I may faint...puke or poop or all 3 at once!

    scary!

I'm actually really concerned about this - it takes me a REALLY long time to eat, especially in the morning, and my wedding is at 11:30am.  So I think I'm going to get a very large coffee, put real milk and sugar in it, and sip on that while getting my hair done... if I eat too much in the morning, it can make me feel sick and / or throw up later in the day, and I would like to avoid that AT ALL COSTS for my wedding!!

So I was just reading an old issue of Modern Bride (June/July 2007) and there was actually a whole section on this! Here's what it said:

"Q. What should I eat before my wedding so that I'm not bloated? "

"A. Your best bets are lean protein, fresh fruit with high water content (melon, berries) and a limited number of bread products. The main goal is to avoid salt: For every thousand milligrams you consume--about the amount in a tablespoon of soy sauce--you'll hold one pount of water weight. . . Three days pre-wedding, cut out high-sodium foods such as soup, olives, pickles, hearts of palm, feta and blue cheese, and tomato sauce. Also avoid certain vegetables, like broccoli and cabbage, which are hard to digest and can give you a distended lower abdomen. (Better choices for light snacking are celery, grape tomatoes, string beans and snow peas.) Finally, consume small portions frequently (200-calorie snacksand 400-calorie meals every three to four hours) to aid digestion and help you look and feel slim."

KathyQ    May 8, 2009   DC/destination wedding in Scotland

Our wedding was at 3:30pm; it was a destination wedding so we were in a hotel (he and I stayed together in the hotel the night before).  I went for a run in the morning and on my way back to the hotel I picked us up some coffee and yogurt and multigrain bread, which we nibbled at in the hotel room for breakfast.  After my fiance left to get ready with the guys, my bridesmaids showed up with some salad, cheese, and fresh bread.  We scarfed down bites of that as sort of a late lunch after getting ready and before it was time to leave for the ceremony.  And I alternated drinking both water and champagne.  I was really paranoid about forgetting to eat and getting dizzy for the ceremony, but I was too nervous and busy to eat a full meal, so having things to nibble on worked out well.

We ordered room service so the girls and I didn't have to go anywhere for breakfast. We got some oatmeal with brown suger, a few pieces of danish pastries, toast, fresh fruit, coffee and orange juice. I think what you eat on the morning of should be more or less the same as what you'd normally eat - that way your body is already used to it. If you're like me and don't normally eat breakfast, I suggest you stick to something light (I only had the toast and some fruit) so you can get through the morning without feeling hungry or dizzy.

We had finger sandwiches, a fruit platter, mini muffins and a lot of bottled water on hand. One thing I would really recommend is packing a cooler for your bridal party with water, some soda, string cheese (or some form of protein that is not messy!) and perhaps some extra finger sandwiches. Our bridal party scarfed down the snacks in the limo ride after the ceremony because they still have a few hours before the cocktail hour at the reception.

ohh edible arrangements..yum!! lots of good ideas here! I think I'll be going with bagels, mimosas, eggs, maybe yogurt and fruit...that type of thing. yummy, but nothing super sugery or really unhealthy. :) in the end, I don't think your breakfast (unless there's a lack of it!) will affect you a whole heck of a lot. :)

We all had to be at the salon at 8am, so alas, that's where we ate!
