- Wedding: November 2011
I need a little help with my music pics. For the ceremony, to match my vintage/off-beat wedding theme, I’d like the music to be slightly more on the indie or acoustic side. But I want them to be emotion triggering songs that anyone can appreciate. I am a HUGE music buff with interest in every single genre, which is why I’m finding it hard to narrow my playlist for the ceremony.
With that said: so far I have selected a few that I’d most likely include-
-“She Is Love” Acoustic Version by Parachute for my entrance
-“Your Song” Elton John cover by Ellie Goulding
-“Flightless Bird, American Mouth” by Iron & Wine
-“Marry Me” by Train
-possibly an accoustic version of a Florence & the Machine maybe “Cosmic Love”
Other random ones were: “Yellow” by Coldplay, some Vitamin String Quartet covers, “I Don’t Want to Miss A Thing,” “I’ll Be”… but then I was afraid of becoming too cliche.
Any thoughts on these guys? Are they too dull? Do you like the style? I wanted a group of music that would compliment each other and stick to one genre and then for the reception we can switch to upbeat, party-time dance/cocktail songs.
Our first dance is 100% definite: “By Your Side” by Sade
What would you say are definite DO NOT PLAYS? Electric Slide, Macarena, Chicken Dance, obviously.
And what are must haves??
