What color nails did you have on your wedding day? I can't decide! If you have pics, I would love to see them!
Also, did you match your toes to your nails?
I did a no-chip in OPI Bubble Bath, a nice pale pink. I don't have any hand photos yet, but here's a link to the color:
My toes were bright pink, but I don't remember the color name.
I love the idea of having one "something blue" nail, inspired by this image from Offbeat Bride:
I also used Shine of the Times by Essie as a top coat to give them an opal sheen to match my opal engagement ring :) Below was my test run...(the pink is Pedal Faster Suzi by OPI, the blue is a cheap-o NYC color I borrowed from a friend!)
Oh, and I'm wearing flats, so no toenail polish for me.
@OldMrsMcDonald: I like Bubble Bath a lot, I was debating against something classic like that or something brighter!
I did a french manicure. I also had "gel nails" which not only looked amazing, they lasted a month! I wish I had the money to get them done like that all the time lol.
@DeathByDesign: Yep, I had a gel french mani too.
I'm thinking about a light pink nail but then I see glitter...
My nails were coral. OPI in Cajun Shrimp, if I remember corectly!
Bridal portraits, I did pink with silver ring fingers, I seriously considered it for the wedding.
For the wedding, I went a little more traditional, but had to add a little sparkle!
@AlwaysSunny: oooh! I haev seen that exact image somewhere and I am thinking something like that for the big day also!
I'm doing something very simple, probably a basic French mani.
OPI's DS Radiance. Toes were OPI, a dark gunmetal grey, can't remember the name.
@AlwaysSunny: I saw that photo on pinterest and i loved it too!
I would match it to your wedding colors, personally. Or just a common, pale pink or silver.
I had a french mani with sparkles on my hands (I have gel nails). My toes weren't visible but I had a bright coral to match the bridesmaid dresses :)
@Ms. Blue: and alwayssunny and whoever else is considering that glitter image:
make sure you have the right nails for it. I brought that image with me to the nail salon when I went to get mine done and it looked so stupid. I had my nails grown out, but I have a short nail bed - because the nailbed is short it looked completely ridiculous, just cut my nails in half. Poor dear had to clean it off and I just went with the plain natural basecoat because I was so frustrated and didn't want to make any more dramatic decisions last-minute.
I had a gel mani in hot pink! Not one of my wedding colors but I like color and decided to go for something fun and pretty that offset my colors (purple, navy, light blue, green). Here's a pic!
What exactly are gel nails? Like fakes or is it a treatment like shellac?
@bluebelle23: Just like shellac. Doesn't chip for at least a week but hard to remove! :)
@AstoriaK: Very pretty! Love that color :)
My nails were OPI gel polish in a pale pink (I can't remember the name - sorry!). It looked very natural and romantic. My toes were a bright cobalt blue (one of our colors), but they didn't show because I had closed toe shoes on. It was a fun color for the honeymoon, though!
This is the day after the wedding:
French mani gel nails here as well. I added a tiny bit of bling in the form of a small blue rhinstone on each ring finger. Matched perfectly with our theme color!
I had a dark, metallic red, which you can kind of see here:
It was a little lighter in person. It was a CND shellac manicure (so worth it for no chips!), and I think the color was called Red Baroness.
My toes were a fun color, OPI "The Color to Watch," a pearly, blue-lilac shade.
My nails were shorter than usual, because the last guy who did my nails basically ripped off my nail growth when he took off my gel tips. I chose shellac polish and wore a pretty peach color and put a layer of silver glitter over it. Originally I planned on going for a rich dark color, but at the last minute chose the peachy shade. I am glad I did! I think it looked really pretty.
You can kind of see it here (thumb) on my wedding day after he put my ring on. I really liked it.
I did french toes and gel french nails. I think French is perfect for brides!
I wanted red nails that looked like that had a shimmer sparkle. I went with OPI Got the Blues for Red and then applied Essie Pure Pearlflection from the Luxeffects line on top.
I don't have pics yet. I unfortunately got ripped off. I paid for a biogel pink and white full set. It cost $50. I have been going to my nail tech for years, and he knew I wanted hand painted white on the tips, which is what he usually does for me when I get that type of set. He used the wrong gel and said, oh, this gives you an opal effect, without even asked me what I wanted. I was not happy. For my engagement pics though, they were awesome.
