I bought a bustierre and thigh highs from Fredericks of Hollywood.. Just a cute set!!! I don’t have a pic anymore, it was 7 years ago. But, they sell so many nice ones!! Honestly, I wound up not wearing it that night. LoL

@mrsjordan53014:  at my lingerie shower my sister gave me a very pretty white negligee! I wore that on our wedding night and it was perfect.

I had a really cute chiffon negligee, but by the time hub got me out of my dress he wasn’t waiting for me to put it on. I was wearing my “something blue” undies and they seemed to serve their purpose.

I actually bought my wedding set NINE YEARS AGO (waaaaay before I ever met my DH) at Victoria’s Secret.  It was on sale, and I figured I’d be the same size, and just went for it.  Its a full-length sheer embroidered nightgown with a matching robe and its just stunning.  I don’t think they carry it anymore, which is a shame!

I also got some cute thongs and panties at Target in white and light blue, with “Bride” written on them in rhinestones.  They still have that line available, I saw it in stores the other day, and its also available online…. http://www.target.com/c/lingerie-intimates-women-s-clothing/-/N-55vh9

Because I was an older bride, and a virgin (by choice, for reasons of my faith), I really wanted something elegant, beautiful, sexy, and slightly modest for my wedding night.

Since I am plus sized, my options were limited, and I ended up spending a small fortune on three Jane Woolrich pieces.  (She’s a lingerie designer in the UK.) I don’t have images of my actual purchases, but I did find something fairly close that is currently on her website:

I will probably purchase some sort of white nightgown or negligee for the wedding night, but honestly, I don’t know how much use it’s going to get. I have a feeling we’re both going to be dead asleep after a day filled with so much emotion and excitement!

For the honeymoon, I’ll probably bring a couple of lacy white pieces (Victoria’s Secret always has a bunch, I’ve bought them NWT on ebay in the past), and then throw in a few others. I would love to do all white through the whole honeymoon, but I feel like it would end up looking the same to my DH!

I wore Target lace underwear that said “bride” on it for the wedding, I didn’t actually have a sexy outfit or anything though. I did purchase some lace white underwear from VS for the honeymoon. Seriously you will be SO EXHAUSTED from the wedding though so don’t put too much pressure on yourself to put on a show. The next morning is just as fun! 😉

Older Encore Bride here…

For my First Wedding (circa 1980) I was like @Brielle: and went for a traditional & elegant Peignoir Set… something like this:

Second Marriage (and Mr TTR & I living together for eons), I spent my money not on Wedding Night Lingerie, but on nice pieces for the Caribbean Honeymoon… Bra & Panty Sets (lol, men seem to love the matchy-matchy thing for some reason).

I bought a variety of styles (Comfortable Cotton for Daytime – and Silky & Sexy for Nightime).  As an Encore, I felt I got a ton more mileage out of that stuff than I would have if I’d got myself something “specific” for the Wedding Night… in so much as Bras & Panties are staples anyhow.

I bought everything at La Senza… which is Canada’s answer to Victoria Secret http://www.lasenza.com

PS… As for the Wedding itself… Go for COMFORT under your Dress (or foundation garments that serve a purpose… to make you look your best).

In truth it is a lonnnng day !!  You will most likely come back to your Honeymoon Suite and have a nice long shower to get the 9 Tonnes of Hairspray out of your hair anyhow.  First Marriage I changed into the Peignoir Set, this time round… I just put on the big old comfy Hotel Bathrobe, and Mr TTR & I caught up on the day… called family (we eloped), sipped champagne etc.  Many couples find that after all the excitement of the day, you just cannot unwind and go to bed right away… much to talk about, maybe have a bite to eat, sip champagne etc

First Wedding My Ex and I was up to 3 or 4 AM… which is another reason I advise Couples to plan any Honeymoon Flights for either LATE the next day… or the day after, Getting Married is Exhausting !!

I had naughty “I Do” lace thong panties on when we consummated our marriage, and I had a white vintage nightie for that night (for actually sleeping). I actually bought it when I was 15, and SAVED IT for the next 8 years!

Then for the honeymoon, I got a bra/panty set from VS, and a TON of nighties/negligees/bra and panty sets from Marshall’s and TJ Maxx! (They were like $10/set!)

I bought this cute little number for our honeymoon from Hips and Curves online.  Money well spent! 😉

My BM and I made a trip to Frederick’s of Hollywood today since they were having a sale on panties (which I love!) and she made me try on lingerie for the wedding night and honeymoon which I had planned on skipping. Anyway, I ended up choosing a red version of this. It’s actually really comfy and made my boobs look awesome!

I got a cute white set with blue ribbon from Target for the wedding night. It matched the “bride” panties my MOH gave me.
