@birdy88:  Really?! Oh no 🙁 I thought it was way less. And I’m in a small town an hour outside of Toronto so unless I find someone local-ish I’ll probably pay even more in travel charges.

I was expecting $250 and that’s what we paid…well, + travel. It is one of the most important parts of the day in my mind. I’d rather have a great officiant than pretty flowers that will just die.

We were expecting $200 at least but when we hired our planner she found someone who is with a church for $75!! I have heard of this site called gigbid.com (not sure if it works up there).

@birdy88:  Our wedding officiant cost totalled $407.30 in Toronto.
We were so happy with their service and how amazing our officiant was, though – so it was a worthy expense. It’s such a significant, front-and-centre thing for a wedding so we were happy to pay for someone we had a really great experience with.

We used Kim Adeney from All Season Weddings (http://allseasonsweddings.com/) and were thrilled. People even commented about how warm and lovely the ceremony was.

You can read reviews about their various officiants and see info about how far they’ll travel on the site.

They’ll give $50 off for people who provide our names and wedding date, so feel free to message me if you’re interested in using All Season Weddings and would like that info!

We got married in whitby and the minister was through our venue (Class Act Dinner Theater, in Whitby). He was amazing, but his fee was something like $300. I think that’s pretty normal.

He Cried during our ceremony at one point, it was really funny.

I’m in AB and ours is $200… possibly a little more with travel. I think you should shop around!

@birdy88:  We could write our own beautiful vows to make it nice andpersonal too.

They usually encourage you to write your own vows (ours sent us a template of the “standard” ceremony and encouraged us to change it wherever we could). Their fee is to perform the ceremony and they’ll file the paperwork for you.

Wow! I’m in Ontario but getting married at Disneyworld and only paying $200! I didn’t realize it was so expensive up here.
