My fiancé and I are getting married in Scotland next year on horseback.
Has anyone been married on horseback before? Any suggestions / tips?
We are both experienced riders…but I feel like its different when it’s your wedding day!

Well, I wouldn’t suggest a mermaid dress!
But I’m sure it will go amazingly, since you’re both experienced riders!

@StephPeace: I second the PP about the cut of your dress, but more than that make sure you get experienced horses and a handler just in case.
I know a lady who used to breed percherons, they were a lovely placid sort that had been used for events before, indeed even for weddings and parties. Roll on the wedding day, bride hops on and the perchie wouldn’t move. She just would not take any instruction and had to be lead down the aisle last minute by the handler. And the handler, sweet as she is, was dressed like any horse woman who is working – boots, jeans, scraagly hair and no make-up.
If it works, it’s great just make sure you cover all the bases 🙂
