Hey our friends got married in a valley in Hawaii. It was a state park. They put their's together in 3 months so it can be done :) We didn't get to go because we are in Texas and had just gone out to see them 4 months before the wedding. Can't afford Hawaii twice in a few months time. Anyway, they did a whole weekend event thing. They listed hotel information for those wanting to stay in hotels and then campground information. They are big into tri-athalons and lots of their friends in Hawaii are too. So Friday night was just a low key beach gathering at sunset. Saturday morning was a 5k run through the state park and then they did a ceremony in the valley at sunset. The pictures were amazing! The just sat up white wooden folding chairs and then used rose petals to define the altar space. The all wore white (groom was in white button down shirts and pants.) It was so pretty against the lush greens. They then did a bbq for dinner. Sunday was church service in the valley. A friend is a Pastor and did their service.
Needless to say they made it fun and relaxing. Had all the activities that are important to their life. Very cool!
thanks vintage2010...
i have families in hawaii & we almost thought of doing it there... unfortunately certain key people in his family can't fly :(
i'm just hoping someone around LA has planned a camping wedding around here... and can share their experiences.
again, thank you for sharing
good to know that it is possible to get a campsite venue in a short notice... there's hope!!!

We just decided to do the same thing in Northern Idaho! I'm not sure about the reservation issues, but if you need help with decor or inspiration for a camp-out wedding bash, send me a message!
PS- my bee profile is still set up with our original wedding plans (non-outdoorsy stuff). I should be putting up my new inspiration board and weekend wedding bash plans soon!
