@inspiration86:  this is how i would handle the situation. i would not have anyone in my bridal party that i had only met a handful of times, and who i really didnt know. the girls standing up there need to really mean something to you. you dont want to look down the road 20 years from now and they are broken up and think what was i thinking? its your wedding, your wedding party, you only get one (hopefully) so the way i see it, everyone can see it my way or they can just get over it. when it is their wedding they can do whatever they wont. i have been judged by the family for wanting to do things that are tradition and leaving out things that are traditional, to the point they make me feel stupid. but im gonna do it the way i want to regardless cause i dont want any regrets. their input doesnt really matter this is my wedding not theirs.

i feel like i just got to blow of some steam there 😉 haha

and as far as seating i wouldnt seat her with the other wedding party if shes not apart of it. sit her with the grooms mom since she seems to love her soooo much. or better yet maybe the more annoying relative your FI has. haha

@inspiration86:  I would not have her in the bridal party – that’s your prerogative to have people close to YOU in your party.  I would seat her at the table with your fiance’s parents or with other family members that she may know.  She’s “family” on his side; seat her that way.

@inspiration86:  I’d say make sure your FI agrees that you should be able to have whoever you want in your bridal party, and then go with your gut.  Your FMIL isn’t going to change her feelings regardless, if she loves the girlfriend, so be it.  But you should be happy on your big day, and I doubt she’ll throw a huge stink and ruin your wedding over whether or not you have the girlfriend in your bridal party.  If she does, she’ll look silly.  I say stick to your guns!
