I wanted to list our wedding party members in the programs, but I'm not sure what order to do it in... I'll probably have them come out in height order, but I don't know exactly what order they'll be standing in. :) Would it be weird to list their names in alphabetical order on the programs? It won't exactly help people figure out who they are....

Alphabetical order makes more sense than height order.

I listed mine in walking order, but I think alphabetical order would work also. I don't know how many people will really be following the program when people are walking in... They're going to be announced at our reception as they walk in, so I think that will probably help people figure out who's who better than in our program. :)

I see the dilemma.  You definitely want to have the same order in your program as when they walk down the aisle.  The wedding I was just in did it by height, except for the MOH of course. You might want to ask them for their heights so you can figure out the order.

they should actually be in walking order.  if you dont know walking order yet, the dont order your programs quite yet!

Here's how I did it -  Maid of Honor had her own listing, Best Man had his own listing, then the other two Bridesmaids were listed under "Bridesmaids", then the other two Groomsmen were listed under "Groomsmen".

I don't think it really matters which bm gets listed first.  I think I just listed mine in the order of which friend I thought was closest to me.  But no one is really going to analyze this, so don't worry about it.

Great question! I'm doing MOH and Best Man listed first and the rest to follow alphabetically. :o) I think that's a fairly common way of listing.

@ClairDarling: I wish! :) I'm actually making them myself and the last time I have time to work on them is... tomorrow! (They're really labor intensive!) I can always have them walk out in whatever order I list them, but it all depends on shoe height (for a few) and I they haven't all picked their shoes yet.

I think I'll go ahead and put them by who I think will end up with the highest heels ;). Three of them are pretty close to the same height, so I guess if they are slightly out of height order walking down the aisle it won't be that big of a deal!

I'm going to do the MOH and Best Man first, and then the rest in order of who's closest to me and my FI, ironically that is in alphabetical order as well.

I'd say alphabetical rather than how they walk down. For me, I'm having my sisters walk in (by age), then FI's sister, then my best friend so it was easy to decide the order. I think other than that option... ABC's are the way to go

Actually, that might be the best idea after all... I mean, I don't think I can rank them by who is closest to me (how do I place my best girlfriends versus my step-sisters versus my brothers?--And I kind of forgot that if I'm going by height, they come first! ;). Alpha it is. ;)
