- Wedding: October 2013
After spending Christmas at my IL’s, I just thought I’d share a funny (?) situation that has come to my attention . . .
My husband and I were married in October. When I met with the photographer to figure out which family members would be in the professional portraits, I had a hard time deciding. My family is so big that including aunts, uncles and cousins was just not an option and I knew they would all understand and not mind. But my husband’s family is smaller and I thought those family members would feel left out if they weren’t in portraits. So I said, let’s tell them to stick around and do one whole family picture with them before all the other family pictures.
That didn’t exactly go as planned. On the wedding day when it was picture time I looked around and was surprised to see no extended family. I figured they had either forgotten or assumed they weren’t in the pictures and it was all good. We proceeded without them.
Well, I show up to my IL’s for Christmas to see a very interesting photo from the wedding hanging on the wall. The whole family is there, but the aunts and uncles have been (badly) photoshopped in! I am then told that one of the aunts was VERY offended to have not been included and has been making comments about it ever since, so they did the photoshop to make everyone feel included. Except the photoshop is so ridiculously bad I have to wonder if it actually makes her feel better.
Just sharing because I thought it was funny. Sometimes you just can’t win and you definitely can’t please everyone! Oh well.
