I recommend asking a photography student (maybe a yearbook photographer?) to photograph the wedding. That's what we are doing, and I know a lot of people that asked our college yearbook photographer to do their pictures. Pictures aren't my top priority, especially since FI and I plan on taking trash the dress pictures in about 6 months, when we can afford it! :)
We are using J Parker Photography. www.jparkerphotographyblog.net He was the best one we got quotes from. And one of the nicest!
I know the below is hard to read, but these are the quotes I got from my craiglist add. I said looking for a photographer for 4 or so hours (went with full day coverage for the small price difference). I have it in a google doc if you would prefer a real spreadsheet with some of the extras they offer.
We are getting married in Navarre, FL: but some of these go from Destin to Mobile.
Hope this helps!

I found mine on craigslist - often times you will find up & coming photographers on craigslist, that havn't built up their portfolio yet, but who have great tallent.
It is important to meet though, and if possible, have them do a few test shots so you can be sure that you like their style/look.
I asked two friends who are avid photographers (though not entirely professional). They are helping me as a gift. If this isn't an option, I went to a wedding a year ago were my friend asked 8 of us that were close friends and had access to a SLR or DSLR (and one that was just a very good photographer even with a point and shoot) to take pictures.
Each of us was given a list of 8 to 10 shots were we "responsible" for. A lot of them overlapped. Some of them were serious shots like "First Kiss" or "Him seeing me for the first time" but some of them were "old people booging" and "me with a bottle of beer in my hand that I am trying to cleverly disguise." Since we all like taking photographs and would have taken a bunch anyway, it wasn't a big deal and didn't feel like a burden. Besides the list, the only thing she really dictated was that during the ceremony, we sit is different areas. Most of us were from different groups of friends so it wasn't a huge deal. All of us actually had a really great time and really got into it, I took about 100 photos.

We are both college students paying for OUR own wedding. Any cheap photographers around the Florida Pan Handle area?
