@lesliesthomp: My photographer was fantastic and he was much less then you are looking to spend! I paid $1100 which included engagement photos, all photos in high res on disk for me to use for personal use, and a few other things. His name is William Dick.

I love working with him and a got a lot of compliments from friends who also thought he made things fun and loved his pics!

OH my heart, I love Lukas Van Dyke, and he is based in the LA area. Please check him out.. :) I would have had him do mine, only I got married in AK.
I would check out Susan Sabo in Long Beach....I know she does film as well as digitial...and she has incredibly great prices and I feel like she has an edge to her photos. She did our e-pictures and went above and beyond what we expected. We ended up going back and buying more photos because they turned out so well.
We worked with Jim Kennedy, absolutely love him and his work.
I second @hilsy85, Victor Sizemore is great as well. His packages usually start around $6K though.

Hello,
I'm looking for a wedding photographer for my wedding in orange county and need some recommendations! I'm looking for a photojournalistic/artsy/vintage style--perhaps with a mix of digital and film photos. Any ideas?
