Have you compared to how many photos she loaded last summer? My first thought is that since it’s prime wedding time she may be super busy and just threw some up to appease you until she can get to the rest?

@Mrs_Amanda:  Is she editing them all before posting? Since yours is the same weight as the family shots (and I’m guessing she has to edit those heavily because families aren’t easy to get good shots of) maybe there are just some things she wasn’t totally satisfied with and is working on in terms of things or people in the background, small retouching of blemishes/shine etc… Or, perhaps we are both reading too much in to it and she never pays attention to how many she posts, just enough to get the “feeling” of the shoot across and in this case it would be good that she acheived that with fewer pictures 🙂

The main thing is, are you happy with what you’ve seen so far?

I think you’ve got some good shots. Honestly my first thought when I saw the pictures is ‘aw they are a real couple’! Sometimes I feel like photographers make everyone’s wedding look like a magazine shoot. And hey, some brides want that but your pictures are so comfortable and real, if you know what I mean.

Super cute that you braved the rain like champs like that, kudos to you for not getting (or at least looking) upset about it!

I wouldn’t panic until you’ve seen everything she has. Gorgeous dress by the way 🙂

Yay! Well, not for the family emergency, but at least you have your answer now!
Post the others when you get more, I’d love to see them!

Yeah I think you’re overthinking this. I don’t know how long your coverage was, but you also don’t know how long the other weddings had coverage. They could have had 2 or 3 extra hours of event to cover so in that sense there may be more content. I also usually end up with less overall images from the day when we have inclimate weather, whether it be rain or being SWELTERING hot like it has been lately. Folks just don’t want to stay outside for photos so I end up with less to deliver than I might at other weddings.

It’s really important for couples not to get caught up on the number of images they receive (or get bogged down comparing that to what other couples may have gotten. If you get the images and the day is accurately represented then you should be happy with that.

ETA: The images you posted do look underexposed. They could certainly be brightened up so if that’s a concern for you it might be something you want to get in touch with your photographer about before she finishes editing. Obviously you can’t make it a sunshin-y blue sky day but they can certainly be brighter than they are.

OMG I love the overcast look! I’m being totally serious, my heart just fluttered a little bit at your pictures. How romantic! The rustic barn with the trees all around. The way your dress has that straight (tulle?) and veil to match as if you are the goddess of rain herself *swooning.*

Sorry, I have no opinion about the photographer, I just had to get that off of my chest. Maybe she/he sucks at taking pictures in the rain? I would have definitely milked this artistic opportunity..
