I’ve been looking into this one wedding planner and she’s $12k + we have to pay for flight & her two assistants flights to the Bahamas (that’s where we want to get married) & also cover their hotel.
My sister says the price is about right with the kind of budget we have for the wedding, around $70k.
My friends say it’s way too much. But after attending my best friends wedding two weeks ago, a wedding planner is a must!
What are your thoughts?

That was almost our entire wedding budget so to me it seems like WAY too much. We had a day-of-coordinator who was amazing and worth her weight in gold but based on my experience, a wedding planner is completely unnecessary and not at all worth $12K unless you don’t want to do any of planning yourself and would be happier just handing it over to someone else.
So I guess my answer depends on what all her services include. I’d only pay $12K if it meant the only thing I’d need to do is send her Pinterest pictures I like. If I have to lift a finger to do any other planning (beyond picking out a dress) I wouldn’t be spending that much money on a planner.

hikingbride : her work is amazing! The resort/location requires us to have a wedding planner. She basically would be doing everything. And to be honest, I wouldn’t even know where to begin, in regard to planning a wedding. 🤷🏻♀️ I know other planners charge 20% of the total.
