- Wedding: May 2011
Hello to all of my wedding bees! I need some advice that I feel like only other brides might be able to understand. We had a two year engagement and the wedding is finally approaching on May 7th. We hired our wedding planner about a year and a half ago. At that time thought she was a great fit and moved forward with having her “assist” with the wedding planning. We are getting married about 8 hours away from where we currently live and about 8 hours from most of our family, we basically planned a wedding right in the middle of where we are located and where most of our family is located.
I work in event planning but not with weddings so I have a good idea of what should be happening when and have not been a stressed out bride so far. My wedding planner however is driving me nuts to the point where a weekend phone call causes me to have panic attacks. I am basically scared of her and try the entire time not to make her upset. I posted a comment about how I thought I could plan a wedding on my facebook page and she sent me an email about the post so I had to de-friend her so I can openly post comments about my wedding without always getting some response. Overall I have slowly started to hate her but am trying just to get through the event. Update phone calls that are scheduled to take a half hour take an hour and a half and to be honest I am starting to lack time and patience.
At this point we only owe her about 15% of her balance and cannot afford to bring someone on.
Has anyone else had to deal with something similar?? Please help!
