I highly recommend my DOC, Anh Sobo of Hudson Valley Events. She's based in the Hudson Valley, but I do think she does weddings in the city.
I did a vendor review on the Hudson Valley Board:

I do wish I had hired her to plan the whole wedding instead of just be DOC. She was really great. I think her DOC rates start around $1500-$2000 range (which includes a meeting at the venue in advance, running the rehearsal, and an assitant for the day of) and she's well worth it.
I'm not in NYC, but I just hired a full-service planner and I wanted to let you know that you're not being a princess at all! Planning weddings takes lots of hours, and when you have other things going on, sometimes it's better to delegate to the professionals.
Like I said, I don't live in NY, but I do read Always a Blogsmaid (www.alwaysablogsmaid.com) like it's my job. If I lived up there, I'd totally use them.
Thanks ladies for the feedback.
@rosychicklet that seems a bit on the high end or maybe what I've been quoted lately has been on the low end. Could you message me what her package actually included? It seems that she offers more than some from what you've said.
@maestro I sent you a message.

I recently posted a question about hiring a planner or DOC for my wedding. I've been engaged for some time and finally set a date. Soooo excited!!!
However, (yes there is a however..lol), I just want to do the fun stuff. If that doesn't sound too selfish. I mean, I definitely want to incorporate my style and personal touch, just don't want to do the tedious things. Sorry if I sound like a princess already, but I'm juggling, new house and new job...anything more will drive me insane.
So I'm seeking any tips on finding a great planner or if you guys can forward on any quotes you've received or recommendations.
Just a little more info on the big day: Outdoor wedding in June 2011 for 100-150 guest.
Thanks again!
