I wish I lived closer! I'm starting my own business for wedding planning and would love to be able to help you. Have you looked at sites like craigslist? That's where we got our officiant.
Did you find your venue yet? Most of the venue offer planners, i'm sure that would be your best bet. I would stay away from anything that is offered for free, period.
yes my venue has a planner but i need someone to help with vendor suggestions such as my wedding dress, brides maids, groom tux and groomsmen etc. In addition I am having my ceremoney and reception at separate venues, so it would help to have someone tie and pull everything together. I also would like someone to help suggest make up, hair, photography, cake....and I don't think that my venue coordinator will be sufficient for all these tasks. I'm looking for help and coordination for everything (rehersal dinner, bridal shower) not just the reception.

We were married in Sarasota, so i don't have any recommendations for vendors that work Tampa area, however i can highly recommend our photographer, she is awesome, easy going and does amazing work, you wont even see her there, at least we didn't, her site is here: www.intruecolors.com if you are interested.
My friend did my make up, and we got cake from Publix. Our ceremony site person had some recommendations, but we didn't have a planner, so sorry can't help you there. Also I'm not familiar with Tampa area, but i'm sure someone can chime in with that info.
Good luck to you!
While I can't recommend a planner (we didn't have one), I'd be happy to recommend a DJ and photographer. Arnolodo Offermann (http://www.arnoldooffermann.com/) works for A Premier Entertainment (www.apremierentertainment.com). They have a number of DJs and offer lighting packages as well. They also offer photography. We chose a different photographer, so I can't speak on that, but Arnoldo was fantastic for the whole process. We're on his blog, along with other weddings in the area.
For photography, I highly recommend Amy from Life Long Studios (www.lifelongstudios.com). They offer great packages (including an engagement session), for a pretty reasonable price. Amy was fantastic, and I truly love our wedding photos.
Hello, I live in St. Pete and I have the most wonderful wedding planner she does it all. She just won the Knot Best Wedding planner in the area she services Pinellas County and Tampa. idealdesignevents.com Chrissy is just wonderful and very affordable too. Here is a recent pic of her work.

OK OK OK! I'm caving!!! I thought I could handle this task BUT I can't. Some brides are really into every detail of their wedding and they know specifically what they want without needing guidance. However, I need the guidance. Espcially after only living in the Tampa Bay area for 6 months, I feel lost. We are spending quite a bit of money on tihs wedding and paying for it ourselves. I want to make sure we get the best bang out of our buck with the advice from someone that is very experienced in the area.
I've gotten a lot of requests from individuals offering free servies but I have quickly found out that it was a a way for them to promote/market their own serivces (invitations, floral, etc).
SO BEES!! Help me! Any suggestions for wedding planning servies in the tampa area???
