If <span style="font-size: 7.5pt; font-family: Verdana">you are looking for an Indian wedding coordinator try Sabrina (I couldn't use her because she was booked on my date, but I've heard really good thing about her) her email is: shevents@gmail.com. There is another Indian wedding coordinator, but they are slightly more expensive: zmoody@simplyvenues.com.<span style="font-size: 7.5pt; font-family: Verdana"><span style="font-size: 7.5pt; font-family: Verdana">We are using a 'day of coordinator' who isn't Indian but they have experience with Indian weddings from LOLA events. Another option is to see if your decorator has anyone they'd recommend.<span style="font-size: 7.5pt; font-family: Verdana"><span style="font-size: 7.5pt; font-family: Verdana"> Hope this helps!<span style="font-size: 7.5pt; font-family: Verdana">
I just booked my DOC from An Urban Affair. My wedding isn't until June of this year but the references I've received about her and the company have been great. A girlfriend of mine used their services (2 years ago) for her wedding and liked them as well, the only concern being that the head coordinator was very anal about things, which could be good or bad depending on what kind of bride you are.
I also looked into with the following planners:
-Honeybee Weddings - Misse D is very sweet and very affordable. She has a website and blog if you want to check her out. She was the first coordinator I met with and so I wasn't sure just how detailed the meeting would be. She took the time to answer my many questions and had great advice and suggestions. I didn't end up booking her because I waited too long and she was already booked!
-Blush and Bashful Events - the lady I met with here used to be the Event Manager at the Intercontinental Hotel in Chicago. (I think her name was Rachel). She too was very nice and seemed very poised and on top of it.
two more things...
1.) your location might matter. Some of the coordinators I contacted were too far for my liking. They could have been great but I didn't want to drive an hour every time I had to meet with them.
2.) Mrs. Emerald (weddingbee blogger) is also a coordinator and she coordinated Mrs. Peacock's wedding. Perhaps you could hit up Mrs Peacock for a review.
There are many great coordinators out there in Chicago!
Amy Vaught (Vaught Events) is my DOC and she is wonderful! She has tons of experience and is reasonably priced.
Thanks ladies! I now have a good list of coordinators to interview. It's nice to know that when a Bride's in need, Weddingbee to the rescue!
I know this post is from a few months back but I second the Lola Events recommendation. Lori was an awesome planner! My husband and I were married in Chicago in 2008. Neither of us are from there, and needed help planning and finding vendors in the city. Lori managed to help us create an amazing day for us and our family. Definitely check them out if you get the chance!
