Hey! I'm working with Amanda at Southern Chic Weddings. She's been super helpful! She's really knowledgable and budget conscious! I'm out of state so I know how you feel. If you talk to her, tell her Jenna Hill sent you!
Let me know if you need any other advice! There are a ton of Charleston brides on here!
i live in isle of palms - 10 mins from charleston. if you need me to look into anything for you, just ask! i'm friends with alocal photographer who is AMAZING. his name is Michel Berda. i HIGHLY recommend him :)
Pink Peony - thanks for the recommendation - I will check her out.
Ijustrockout - thanks for your generous offer - I am headed down to Charleston soon to check out some venues and explore a little....I will also check out your photographer friend.
Do either of you have recommendations for cute hotels for out of town guests to stay at?
Many thanks for your help!
@myobmbs: There are a ton of hotels in the area. It really depends on where you want to be. The last time we went we stayed at the Inn at Shem Creek right on the water. It was great and there are some awesome restaurants across the creek. Where are you looking at venues???
I worked with Southern Protocol = AWESOME! I was more than happy with the cost and service.
A friend of mine is using Sweet Grass Events. She seems really pleased so far as well.
@myobmbs: If you want an Inn downtown, I like the Vendue Inn. Very charming. I've stayed there but we didn't use it as our wedding block.
@MrsPinkPeony: Where did y'all end up using for your block? We have one at the Best Western up by the marina because it's really reasonably priced, but I want to figure out one more...
@MrsPinkPeony:I contacted Southern Protocol and they seem really promising! Thank you!!!

I am getting married in Charleston in March. My venue is the Wild Dunes Resort. I am not sure if you are more of a DIY kind of bride, if so Wild Dunes is perfect. Samantha Martin is the coordinator for weddings there, and she is amazing! I am an out of town bride and I had a billion questions for her. She answers literally right away through email or phone. Samantha's team will set everything up as long as you have all the decorations there and instructions on what you want. The only thing her team won't do was hang paper lanterns for me. Everything else was not a problem.

Hi - has anyone had any good/bad experiences with wedding planners in Charleston? I am an out of state bride looking at a bunch of different vendors. Some seem quite pricey - anyone have any luck negotiating them down?
