The wedding is over, and being married is fan-freakin-tastic.

However, writing thank you cards is not.

Neither is waiting for professional pics. Sigh.

I'm really really behind on everything and February is going to be insane. The best thing I've accomplished this week is our hotel block in downtown L.A. It took a week to get it organized but I'm happy to finally be able to check it off my list! :)

Here are my latest lists:

January Completed:

Number, wrap, address, and send out invitations (scheduled for the first week of January)
(scheduled for the first week of January) Pushed to first week of February
Order candy for candy bar (scheduled for the second week of January) Pushed to first week of February
Purchase scoops/tongs for candy bar
Finalize tux rentals (scheduled for the first week of January)
Get insurance certificate for serving alcohol at venue
Purchase items for bathroom baskets (scheduled for completion by mid-March)
Purchase bags for candy/cookies/other favors
Practice walking up and down the stairs in my crinoline and shoes
Practice going potty in my crinoline and shoes
Get FI and sons fitted for tuxes (scheduled for January 29th)
Go to another cake tasting to drop off certificate for 10% off cake order (scheduled for January 29th)

February To Do:

Order flowers for the bouquets (scheduled for the first week of January) Pushed to first week of February
Make cookies; chocolate chocolate chip and peanut butter, for the candy/cookie bar
Decorate scoop and tongs for candy bar (need to schedule a trip to Michaels and/or Joanns)
Make signs and labels and decorations for the candy/cookie bar (scheduled for the second week of January) - partially done - Pushed to second week of February
Hire bar service for cocktail hour/reception (scheduled for the second or third week of January) Appointment scheduled for February 4th
Get banquet permit for serving our own alcohol (scheduled for mid-March)
Get marriage license (scheduled for early to mid-March) (now scheduled for February 11th)
Finish paying vendors (scheduled for completion by mid-March)
Finish getting grooms gifts and something to put them in
Schedule second fitting with seamstress (scheduled for February 4th)
Make menus (scheduled for third week of February)
Make place cards (scheduled for third week of February)
Schedule final fitting (scheduled for second or third week of March)
Finish sewing party dress
Make jacket for party dress
Get music to DJ
Get final numbers to caterer

Picked a bouquet, booked a florist. Yay! That was my last major vendor except for hair/makeup. We also wrote our ceremony and got our officiant.

I'm currently on tenterhooks waiting to see the sketch of the invitation my printmaker friend is doing for me! I should see it sometime next week.

In March, the florist will come by our house (where the wedding is going to be) to get a feel for the space and design the arrangements. We will also have our food and cake tasting, WOOT. That is the part of wedding planning I have been most excited about. :P

My friend who's designing my dress sent me the muslin mockup in december. I put some pins in it and sent it back; she's going to make a few adjustments and then send it to me again this month. If it still doesn't fit quite right, I'll take it to a pro to be fitted. She'll then use that to make the real thing. The only bad thing about having a custom-designed dress is that I'll have no idea what it will really look like on me until a month or so before the wedding. Eek! But I trust her skill and her eye.
