We didn’t push ours back, but because we have so many weddings to attend next year, two of which we are in and all of which require air travel, we had to set our date in July 2015 too. So I definitely relate to what a bummer it is to have to wait two years while everyone else around us seems to be getting married at once! I am just planning to DIY everything so I can feel like I am working toward it even when it’s super far off.

Three months before our wedding, my husband (fiancé at the time) was diagnosed with cancer. There was no question that we would push it back but it was still difficult to realize the wedding we had waited and planned for would be postponed. But I will tell you that pushing the wedding back was a blessing in disguise. Not only did I have a healthy husband (amazing) but we had a whole year to grow as a couple. It sounds silly, but I 100% know that we were a better, stronger couple one year later and when that wedding came, it was an incredible day.

Oh and we were able to save an extra year an took a kick ass honeymoon 🙂
