How did you pick your (non religious) wedding reading? I can't figure out what I want to have our friend read at our wedding. And I need to pick ASAP as its only 2 months away (and I promised her she could have some time to practice!)
Sonnet 43 ("How do I love thee?) from the "Sonnets from the Portuguese" by Elizabeth Barrett Browning Rabbi ben Ezra (by Barrett Browning's husband, Robert Browning) Sonnet 18 by Shakespeare ("Shall I compare thee to a summer's day?") A Red, Red Rose by Robert Burns
If you're not big on the sonnets, google "ee cummings ceremony readings." His poetry can be somewhat difficult to understand at times, but I love it :)
I also love "The Art of Marriage" by Wilferd Arlan Peterson, and second nicole3381 as far as "I Like You" is concerned!
we built our ceremony around "the art of a good marriage" as listed above and used dorothy colgan's "i promise" as our vows since they fit us right down to the struggles we always fight over. Hope it helps.
